Why Upper Valley

Not another online program. A real dentist teaching real skills.

Other programs send you Zoom links and call it hands-on. We built something different — dentist-led, fully in-person classes in Mission, TX, at a price that won't follow you for years.

12 Weeks. One Price.

$3,000 flat — books, supplies, and certification exam prep included. No semester traps, no surprise fees, no debt you'll spend years paying off.

Real Dental Equipment

Train on the same instruments, materials, and software used in working dental offices — not textbook diagrams or video simulations.

Taught by a Licensed Dentist

Every class is led by an actual dentist — not a teaching assistant, not a Zoom moderator. You learn chairside technique from someone who does it every day.

Local — Not a Franchise

We're not a national chain running the same Zoom curriculum in 40 cities. Upper Valley is built specifically for the Rio Grande Valley, with local employer relationships that actually get you hired.

Certification-Ready

Full prep for TSBDE requirements — including the x-ray certification every Texas employer requires. Exam prep is built into your tuition, not an add-on.

Job-Ready From Day One

12 weeks of in-person practice means you walk into your first job knowing exactly what to do. Employers in the RGV can tell the difference between someone who trained online and someone who trained here.

The Curriculum

What you'll actually learn.

Twelve focused weeks. Every module built around what employers in the Rio Grande Valley are hiring for right now.

MODULE 01

Dental Anatomy & Terminology

Tooth structure, oral anatomy, charting systems, and the language used in every dental practice.

MODULE 02

Chairside Assisting

Four-handed dentistry, instrument transfer, suction technique, and assisting during fillings, crowns, and extractions.

MODULE 03

Infection Control & Sterilization

OSHA standards, autoclave operation, PPE protocols, and the safety procedures every Texas dental office must follow.

MODULE 04

Dental Radiology (X-Rays)

Hands-on training to prepare for the Texas state x-ray certification — a requirement employers ask for by name.

MODULE 05

Dental Materials & Lab

Mixing impression materials, fabricating temporaries, pouring models — the hands-on craft of the role.

MODULE 06

Front Office & Patient Care

Scheduling software, insurance basics, patient communication — the administrative skills that round out a great dental assistant.

Frequently Asked

Questions, answered.

Do I need a diploma or prior experience?
A high school diploma or GED is required. No prior healthcare or dental experience necessary — we start from the fundamentals.
Is $3,000 the full price? Any hidden fees?
$3,000 is the total tuition — instruction, textbooks, lab materials, PPE, and certification exam prep. The only separate cost is the certification exam fee paid directly to the certifying body.
What certification will I be prepared for?
Our curriculum prepares you for Texas State Board of Dental Examiners (TSBDE) requirements, including dental assistant registration and the x-ray certification Texas employers require.
Can I work while in the program?
Yes — we offer day and evening class schedules so working adults can earn their certification without quitting their current job.
What if I can't pay $3,000 upfront?
We offer flexible payment plans — typically around $250/month. Ask your admissions advisor about options.
Where is the campus?
Mission, Texas — convenient for students across the Rio Grande Valley including McAllen, Edinburg, Pharr, and Weslaco. Exact address shared after you connect with an advisor.
Will you help me find a job?
Yes — resume support, interview prep, and introductions to Rio Grande Valley dental practices actively hiring. Local employers prefer locally trained candidates.
